Union Flag Carrier LEVEL TWO
CIVIL WAR QUIZ #8
Confederate Flag Carrier

Many of the battles of the Civil War were given two or more names (i.e. Manassas, Bull Run). If there was anything consistent about the naming, it was that one side usually used the name of the nearest town, while the other used the name of the nearest river, stream, or run. However, there were additional, less famous, names given to many of the battles.

Ten "less famous" battle names are listed below. Your task is to enter another given name (it does not have to be the most famous name) for each of the battles. (A hint: all of the battles are in the same state.)

Please give another name for the following battles:

1) Poindexter's Farm?

2) Enon Church?

3) Riddell's Shop?

4) First Cold Harbor?

5) Harrison's Landing?

6) Fleetwood Hill?

7) Belle Grove?

8) Slaughter's Mountain?

9) Hillsman Farm?

10) Fort Darling?
